IRC is Internet Relay Chat.
Obtain an IRC client from www.tucows.com, from the text chat section, and install it. mIRC, ircle, PIRCH and VIRC are some of the more popular clients to use currently. You might also want to check www.winfiles.com.

Double check to see if you are on the right server. If you logged onto an Undernet or Efnet server or some other IRC server, you will not be able to find any of the regular #ass-c crowd. Also, maybe there just isn't any one on during the time you logged on.

Just about any time during the day, however, the peak times are from 10pm EST / 7pm PST until 4am EST / 1am PST.
Make sure you have AOL version 3.0 or 4.0, then follow the above instructions on downloading an IRC client or use the JAVA based chat program.
Most shell accounts will already have an IRC client installed. Just type irc from the shell prompt and it should run. If not, contact your system administrator. Once it runs, make sure you're on one of the servers listed above. Type /join #ass-c.
